Its members call themselves Triskelions. Their aim is to see a Fraternity System devoid of violence, and to earnestly propagate their fraternity's principles as their way of life. Based on these goals, the Triskelions categorized their formal group as a 'protest fraternity'. The Tau Gamma Phi Fraternity is now one of the largest fraternities in the Philippines. With about 700 thousand registered members spread out in 4,000+ university, collegiate, secondary school and community chapters. The Triskelion Alumni Organization (TAO) is the umbrella organization for all its alumni members. The TAO have established closely-knit enclaves in the United States of America (where it has 10 active Regional Councils), Europe and other continents around the world. Tau Gamma Phi was founded over 40 years ago at the Diliman Campus of the University of the Philippines on October 4, 1968. The second chapter of Triskelions was founded at the Philippine Maritime Institute on August 3, 1969. In the next few years chapters were also founded in other colleges and universities in the Philippines. Its affiliated sorority, Tau Gamma Sigma, was founded on January 17, 1969 also at the U.P. The Tau Gamma Phi’s general symbol is the Triskelion, and symbolic animal is the lion. It’s Patron Saint is St. Francis of Assisi. Triskelions Grand Fraternity & Sorority National Council of Thailand Background Information Founded in February 2, 2008, TGFS – NC – TH is the Official Regional Council of the Tau Gamma Phi / Tau Gamma Sigma Alumni Organization in Thailand. The Council is dedicated to the conduct of charitable works and socio-civic activities benefiting fellow Triskelions residing in the Kingdom of Thailand and overseas, as well fellow Filipino Overseas Foreign Workers living in Thailand, and commit to respect and uphold the Philippine and Thailand Constitution.
